16.7 Scope

A plan never reaches through a view the caller could not invoke directly. The steps on offer are the views the asking principal may run; a view hidden from them is not named in a diagnostic either. A DERIVE rule carries no audience of its own: it is evaluated for any query that reads its conclusion, planned or not (§13). A plan runs as the caller, through the path every query takes, so §15’s scope and every refusal in this document apply to the compiled statement unchanged.
